  7. Here are some contact address's for various organisations I have come
  8. across in my travels upon the wyrd way. :-)

  10. The only one I can comment upon in any depth is the Pagan Federation,
  11. as that's the one I have seen the most of (and hopefully will soon
  12. join).

  26. Mainly a Wiccan orientated group, though they describe themselves thus:

  28. "The Pagan Federation is a National and International association of
  29. Pagans established in London in 1971. It is a worldwide forum of
  30. discussion between the various branches of the Europe's Old Religions.
  31. It offers a focus of contact for those who might find rapport with the
  32. Old Ways, and servers to promote the unified face of Paganism against
  33. its enemies and detractors".

  35. An additional point I'd like to make to those concerned with the
  36. statement "the unified face of Paganism" is that there has been a recent
  37. discussion about 'accreditation' of Pagan priestesses/priests, and the
  38. outcome that struck me was that most were against it, on the grounds
  39. that (a) who set the standards, and more importantly, (b) this would be
  40. a move towards homogenisation.

  44.     The Wiccan: The Journal of the Pagan Federation

  46.     Regular sections include an Anti-Defamation section,
  47.     Wally's Guide to Wicca (hilarious, IMHO), letters, articles on
  48.     various pagan paths and general news of interest to all pagans.
  49.     Generally UK/Europe-centered, although there is an international
  50.     membership, and the Samhain edition carried an article
  51.     on Wicca in Japan, written by a Japanese Witch.

  53.     Published: 4 times a year, for the fire festivals (Beltane etc).

  64.     Intended as guidance for schools etc and as a PR pack
  65.     for the media, as a follow on from their Halloween campaign
  66.     to combat and inform against scaremongering about Paganism.

  70.     Something Out of Nothing:

  72.     Expoding the myth of ritual abuse, especially concerning the
  73.     Orkneys child abuse case (last I heard the parents were going
  74.     to the European Court on Human rights for justice on this one).
  75.     It was written for social workers and the police, and explains
  76.     in simple terms what Wicca and Paganism really are.

  90.     organised and has posted articles to the alt.pagan USENET
  91.     newsgroup. I have a copy of one of their postings to alt.pagan

  122.     This is a journal, and not an organisation, but I included
  123.     it as an example of what is advertised in the UK, and because
  124.     it's from Wales, I must admit. :-)

  135. The Group for the Preservation of Ancient Heritage

  137. [This is culled from Paganlink's posting to alt.pagan mentioned above]

  139. A meeting of the Group for the Preservation of Ancient Heritage was held
  140. in August.  Present were representatives from Paganlink, the Dragon
  141. Project, the Ley Hunter, Robin's Greenwood Gang, the Council of British
  142. Druid Orders and the Pagan Federation.  It is hoped more organisations
  143. will become involved as the Group becomes known.

  145. The aims of the group are:
  146.  
  147. *    to raise funds for the purchase of the the Rollright Stone
  148. Circle, together with such associated sites as may become available.
  149.  
  150. *    subsequently, or in the event of this site not becoming
  151. available, or of there being insufficient funds for its purchase, to use
  152. the funds for the purchase of other pre- and protohistoric ceremonial
  153. monuments and sites.
  154.  
  155. *    to arrange management of the Rollright Circle, to ensure its
  156. continuing guardianship and preservation, and to ensure access to the
  157. public and specialist interest groups.

  159. *    to seek the views of all interested parties with a view to
  160. incorporating these into the sites management where possible.

  162. *    to promote interest in, and disseminate information on this and
  163. other ancient ceremonial sites.

  210.     There are three occult archives that I know of, one run by the
  211. same person who runs the 'bot on IRC mentioned below, which is at
  212. seismo.soar.cs.cmu.edu, and another at slopoke.mlb.semi.harris.com.  The
  213. alt.astrology FAQ is archived at hilbert.maths.utas.edu.au in the
  214. directory /pub/astrology, along with other material.  Don't forget that
